The Bulgarian T.I.M.E. team came back
The Bulgarian T.I.M.E. team came back from an extremely successful visit to Mako, Hungary. The team members enjoyed the warm welcome of the Hungarian partners, their parents and fellow citizens. The programme was full of meaningful events and wonderful moments and experiences. All this led us further along the road to tolerance and motivated everybody for work, study and participation in international projects.
Antoaneta Kostova won the second place at the City Competition
Antoaneta Kostova won the second place at the City Competition, a part of the National Conference under the name of “The School : A Desired Territory for Students” and is going to take part in the Regional Conference .
Her entry “The theory of multiple intelligence and the individual approach in the teaching process” was presented beforehand at the Third School Conference On Qualification in 2010.
Final Meeting - Games And Learning in Europe (G.A.L.E.)
Our school has been working on (G.A.L.E.) Comenius project according to agreement № LLP-2009-COM-MP-113, signed with the National Agency for two years.
Time has come to present the final product. Thus, our partners from Romania, Hungary, Greece, Spain, Italy and Germany will be visiting us from 6th to 11th April, 2011.
School visit from Uskudar Doga Colleges, Istanbul
From 14th to 16th December, 2010, St.Sofrony Vrachanski Secondary School was the host to students from Uskudar Doga Anadolu Lisesi, Istanbul. The visit was part of the student exchange project and it passed quickly in meetings, friendly talks, different activities and social events. There were unforgettable experiences and a lot of laughter and dancing
We truly believe that our project will provide an opportunity for an intercultural dialogue, an open and respectful exchange of world views and interaction between young people from both schools and will develop our students` social skills and life competences further more.
Alley of Friendship, Tolerance and Intercultural dialogue
Today, 3rd December, 2010, the T.I.M.E Comenius team started the ALLEY of Friendship, Tolerance and Intercultural Dialogue, where each of the teams visiting our school will plant a tree.
We were honoured to have the Romanian team on a prep visit in our school plant the first one.
May success attend all those who work in the name of friendship, tolerance and intercultural dialogue between nations, religions, races and countries!

 St.Sofrony Vrachanski are celebrating their school holiday today!
A new module in the lobby dedicated to the memory of our patron saint St. Sofrony Vrachanski was inaugurated today. Materials on St.Sofrony` s life and activities, donated by the Museum of Contributors to the Bulgarian National Revival in Kotel were exhibited there. One can also see:
- books by Sophronius and other matter related to school history;
- the original of a student` s congratulatory speech at the school opening ceremony;
- the original of the school anthem /notes and lyrics/ by Radoslav Rayanovski;
- a honorary diploma,given by the mayor of Venice to Ana Atanasova` s school dancing company on the occasion of Bulgarians` first participation in the carnival of Venice;
- a copy of Istoriya Slavyanobolgarskaya made by 5th graders under the guidance of their teacher Zlatina Edreva and presented to the school on the occasion of its 25th anniversary;
- the ambassadors` of China gifts who have visited our school twice so far;
- a donation diploma, issued by the Museum of Contributors to the Bulgarian National Revival in Kotel for the icon presented to them by the school and many others.
The commemorative module is surmounted by a 10-kilogramme bell. The donation was initiated by 9a class. Acknowledgements to all who took part in the donation campaign!
At the end of the celebration there was a jubilee-performance of the school puppet show company. Under the instruction of Mrs. Albena Borisova, their teacher, they have been entertaining our students, as well as kids from kindergartens inTrakia and the villages of Trud and Yagodovo for 10 years.
The actors had a briefing on their future plans after the celebration.

 WINNERS
Despite being one of the youngest participants in the XVIII National Competition for Patriotism, Maria Goteva from St. Sofrony Vrachanski Secondary School in Plovdiv was awarded for her outstanding achievements. She won the Special prize of the National Palace of Children.
Her essay attracted the attention of the jury over 53 other essays.
Congratulations to Maria and acknowledgements to her consultant, Senior teacher Irina Daskalova!
 News about Comenius Project
1st-4th November
Principal teachers Svetla Botova and Maya Gaidarova visited Ali Haydar Gunver Primary School in Bahcelievler, ISTANBUL at the invitation of the Comenius team there. Participants from Turkey, Bulgaria, Scotland, Spain and Poland got together to discuss and set up a new Comenius project. All foreign coordinators were overwhelmed by the warmest reception they had ever had. Teachers ,parents, students and the local authorities eagerly showed their willingness to have us for partners and piled affection and pleasant surprises on us. We hope we will have the opportunity to return their warm welcome.

At the initiative of the Council of Europe, Strasbourg, the European Day of Languages has been celebrated every year since 2001 on 26 September.
Throughout Europe, 800 million Europeans represented in the Council of Europe's 47 member states are encouraged to learn more languages, at any age, in and out of school. Being convinced that linguistic diversity is a tool for achieving greater intercultural understanding and a key element in the rich cultural heritage of our continent, the Council of Europe promotes plurilingualism in the whole of Europe.
